Refund and Return

This policy explains how cancellations, refunds, and returns work for purchases from Monthly Booktern, operated by Acceler Edtech Private Limited. Please read this alongside our Shipping & Delivery Policy; the two are designed to be read together.

1. What this policy covers

This policy applies to Booktern monthly subscriptions, merchandise sold through our website or authorised channels, and any complimentary or promotional items provided alongside paid orders.

2. Cancelling your subscription

You may cancel your Booktern subscription at any time during the subscription term by writing to hello@asymmetrical.aifrom your registered email, with your order number or subscriber ID and a brief reason for cancellation. Cancellation takes effect from the next un-dispatched issue.

3. Refunds for cancelled subscriptions

Annual Booktern subscriptions, once placed and payment confirmed, cannot be cancelled. The subscription will run for its full paid term, during which every issue will be dispatched to the address on record. If you need to change the delivery address during the subscription period, please refer to Clause 7 of our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

In exceptional circumstances (bereavement, serious illness, relocation outside India), we may, at our sole discretion, consider a partial refund or pause.

4. Non-serviceable PIN codes

If your delivery PIN code is not serviceable by India Post or any of our private courier partners at the time of order placement, we will not be able to fulfil your order. We will notify you within 3 working days of order placement and refund the full amount paid, to your original payment method within 7 working days of notification.

5. Damaged, defective, or missing items

Replacement or compensation for issues that arrive damaged, wet, or with missing items is governed by Clause 9 of our Shipping & Delivery Policy. Claims must be raised within 7 days of receipt with photographs.

6. Lost in transit

Replacement for issues that do not reach you within the timelines defined in Clause 10 of our Shipping & Delivery Policy will be dispatched free of cost, as set out in that clause.

7. Across-the-counter and in-person sales

Purchases made in person at events, school visits, exhibitions, fairs, workshops, partner stores, or any other in-person channel are final and not eligible for refund. Damaged or defective items noticed at the point of sale may be exchanged on the spot, subject to stock availability. We are unable to process exchanges or refunds for in-person purchases after the buyer has left the point of sale.

8. Complimentary items, gifts, and promotional offers

Complimentary merchandise, welcome gifts, samples, magazines, books, or any other item provided free of charge as part of a subscription offer or promotion are not redeemable for cash, are not transferable, and may not be exchanged for any other item unless we expressly state so in writing. The complimentary item offered at the time of order is subject to availability at the time of dispatch.

Acceler Edtech Private Limited reserves the right to add, modify, substitute, or withdraw any complimentary item, freebie, bundled offer, or promotional scheme at any time, with or without prior notice, and without obligation to any past, current, or prospective subscriber.

9. How to request a re ship

Please include your order number or subscriber ID, the reason for your request, and photographs where applicable. Requests submitted from email addresses other than the one registered against the order will be processed only after we are able to verify identity.

10. What is not refundable

For clarity, the following are not eligible for refund under any circumstances:

a. Issues already dispatched, whether received or not (handled instead under Clauses 9 and 10 of the Shipping & Delivery Policy) 

b. Across-the-counter and in-person sales 

c. Complimentary items, freebies, and promotional gifts, which are also not redeemable for cash 

d. Subscriptions where the full term has been completed and all issues delivered 

e. Digital products and access codes or logins, once issued

10. Force majeure and delayed delivery

Where issues are delayed or remain undelivered due to events outside our reasonable control, as listed in Clause 11 of our Shipping & Delivery Policy, your subscription term will be extended by the equivalent period rather than refunded.

11. Right to refuse

Acceler Edtech Private Limited reserves the right to refuse a refund or return request where we have reasonable grounds to suspect misuse of this policy, including but not limited to repeated unsubstantiated damage claims, use of the magazine before claiming a return, or attempts to claim refunds on items that have not been purchased from us or our authorised channels.

14. Changes to this policy

We reserve the right to amend this Refund and Returns Policy at any time. The policy in effect on the date of your purchase will apply to that purchase. The most current version is always available at asymmetrical.ai.
